Deep bodies of water
Hello! My name is Jessica Patrice Turner. I recently graduated (December 2019) from Texas A&M University at Commerce with my Commercial Photography degree. My initial interest and love of art began at my elementary school George Bannerman Dealey Montessori Academy, where Elizabeth Garret, Matteo Mazur, and Renee Schmidt introduced me to art in all forms. From there, I went to Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts to be one of the many kids privileged enough to be taught by their amazing staff. Being in such an openly creative environment from such a young age was very influential in my decision to pursue a degree in Commercial Photography. In my 3.5 years of college, I learned a lot about myself and about being proud of the work that I make. I also realized that design is something that I'm really passionate about learning more about. So much so, that my career goals include becoming an Art Director or Editor in Chief for a Fashion Magazine. Now that I've gotten undergrad out of the way though, I'm back to living and working in Dallas full time. Currently, I'm serving as the Digital Art intern for D Custom, a full service marking agency Downtown. And because I could never abandon photography, I'm also a freelance photography assistant for professionals all over the city. In my spare time, I love to watch Bon Apetit videos on youtube, photograph my friends, have existential crisis' about nothing, and drive to my parents house to eat their food. If you left me alone for an entire day (when I'm not shooting), you would probably watch me scroll through TikTok for two hours, play with my baby snake Louis, and attempt hand-lettering.
